Being a micro-influencer means I always get to try new products.
I am always the first to know about new products. I get to try them and I talk about their various benefits through my Instagram Which is great if I was experimenting, but it leaves me with little loyalty to the brands I do truly love.
I like routine. I like using the same products every day because I being in consistently. When Recher first proposed to send me their skincare set, I thought I’d end up using them once and chuck it in favor of new ones I receive.
Recherche became the first brand to stick.
I was given their basic skincare regime, a series that touts itself to be the foundation steps to healthier, beautiful skin. The first thing I took it immediately was the packaging. I know it’s become trendy to have fun, young prints but theirs looked clinically sleek. My mum loved it upon sight.
She was the first one to start using it religiously. I left the parcel untouched for a week and when I finally had time to try it, she told she’s a week in and that her skin feels softer than before. That could’ve been me!
Without further ado, let me walk you through my current go-to series:
Protective Hydrator (S$69)
I start off my day with this! I am notoriously lazy with sunblock and my mum nags at me daily over it because of my increasing freckles so THANK GOD FOR THIS. The Protective Hydrator not only shields your skin from UVA and UVB rays, it also prevents skin damage from exposure to pollutants.
The latter is applicable for me as I am on Gabriel’s bike 24/7 and I love keeping the visor up. I enjoy the wind whipping through my hair at the cost of it bringing dirt particles in the air straight onto my skin. I’ve since stopped lifting my visor as much after applying this to maximize results so hopefully it can restore my poor skin.
Amino Acid Cleansing Mousse (S$45)
I start off my showers with this. I don’t use mascara/ foundation/ eyebrow pencil/ all that junk because I work out a lot and I hate feeling layers on my skin. But I do sweat a lot and my face is on a yoga mat (that a hundred people has used before me!!!) 50% of the time so cleansing is very vital for me.
Their Cleansing Mousse is the first product I use when I bathe and I love it to bits because it carries hints of lavender, which melts away all the stress of my work day and aches of my work out. So inventively relaxing!
Revitalising Tonic (S$51)
I have bulletproof skin. I haven’t had a pimple outbreak since I turned 14. I did not apply any moisturizer through a 16 day winter trip and my face still glowed. So my issue is never finding the right product – it is finding a product with scent I like enough to inspire me to moisturize.
This one, similar to their mousse, is fragrance free but gently laced with flower and fruit essences. I love pleasant scents. It makes my application feel like a spa treatment so I am more hardworking with application.
Nourishing Skin Cream (S$83)
This is the one I bring on the go.
My job requires me to bring my alumni to outdoor events so I’m always in the sun. While my skin is generally low maintenance, it does occasionally feel dry and cracked after a long day out so this is my savior! It is handy and serves as a quick pick-me-up every time I need the hydration.
Cell Repair Lift Serum (S$129)
I admittedly don’t use this product much. I think at 25, I need not be applying too much of lifting serums. So instead, my mum has become the solo user of this bottle. She uses this the most because she’s obsessed with collagen production and the ingredients in this unique product helps with that so good for her.
It is only the first month of both our usage so I don’t want to go on for too long but I do feel that it is one of the more premium products on the market that has promising results. Try it for yourself!
